Charity bag exchange starts for the seventh time at Huxori

Höxter (red). From September 27th to 29th it’s that time again: For the seventh time, the Zonta Club Höxter is presenting the popular second-hand bag exchange for a good cause at the Huxori market. As in previous years, the Marienkirche (Minoritenstraße) is transformed into a true Eldorado for bag lovers. In front of an attractive backdrop, visitors can expect a wide range of products that will make hearts beat faster: stylish shoulder bags for every taste, practical weekenders, elegant clutches, briefcases, travel bags, men’s bags, wallets, toiletry bags, backpacks, messenger bags and much more.

The bag exchange has been very popular since it was launched 7 years ago. Every year, the Zonta Club receives numerous donated bags from both the district and beyond, which are sold for a good cause at the bag exchange. This year, the Zonta Club is again asking citizens to search through their cupboards for hidden treasures and give the “old” bags a “second life”. “We are happy about every bag that is in good condition,” says Barbara Fien, a member of the Zonta Club’s bag working group. If you find it difficult to let go, it might help to realize that a donated bag makes you three times happier: the new owner, the many women and children who receive the proceeds, and last but not least, the donors themselves, who make room for new things with a clear conscience.

The well-preserved and intact bags can be handed in at various collection points in the Höxter district until September 15th: in Bad Driburg in the pharmacy Am Alten Markt, Lange Straße 75, in Beverungen at “Frischemeyer – Die Blumenbinderei”, Industriestraße 15, in Brakel in the Rosenapotheke, Nieheimer Str. 10, in Boffzen in the Weserapotheke, Untere Dorfstraße 32a and in the Ölmühle Solling, Höxtersche Str. 3, in Höxter at Provinzial Birgit Bitterberg, Corbiestraße 32, in the Kosmetikinstitut Marianne Fien, Bachstraße 1, in Holzminden at Stadtmarketing, Markt 2, in Nieheim at Blumenhaus Drewes, Schäferstraße 27, and in Steinheim at the Wedegärtner bookstore, Marktstraße 23.

An extra highlight of the bag exchange this year is the tombola, where there are numerous prizes to be won that have been donated by local companies and shops. The proceeds from the tombola will also go to the charity.

The opening hours of the bag exchange in St. Mary’s Church are as follows: Friday, September 27th from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, September 28th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 29th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you want to refresh yourself, there is a small café in the courtyard behind St. Mary’s Church. The Evangelical Weser-Nethe Congregation offers delicious home-made cakes and hot and cold drinks there in the afternoon. The ZONTA Club Höxter would like to thank the Evangelical Weser-Nethe Congregation for making St. Mary’s Church available for this charity initiative.

This year, the proceeds from the purse will go to the women’s advice center against violence against women and children in the Höxter district, to the women’s and children’s shelter in the Höxter district and to the Kinderheimat Neuhaus foundation. “We are delighted that the proceeds from the purse this year will stay in the region,” said President Leonore von Falkenhausen, “and will go to three projects for women and children that are extremely worthy of support.” So let’s go: donate, shop and do good with your bargain purchases!
