Earlier this fall, a player was arrested in Djurgården on suspicion of rape. IN application for arrest appeared that the prosecution it should have been raised no later than 20 October, but then reported Radio sport to the indictment period was extended to October 28 due to the fact that the investigation was not completed.
It has now been announced that charges will be brought against the player, who is therefore suspected of rape for probable reasons. Charges are also filed for offensive photographs on seven occasions and minor drug offenses. According to the press release, the player denies any wrongdoing.
– After investigations were carried out, inter alia, on the defendant’s mobile phone and talks with him, the plaintiff and witnesses were held, the suspicions against the man were strengthened, the deputy prosecutor said in a press release Frida Vedin.
Djurgården previously suspended the player. Club sporting director Bosse Andersson says the following about the allegation:
– It is extremely sad when one of our players is accused of a serious and serious crime. So we have no other comments but we have to follow the incident, he tells Fotbollskanalen.
The trial begins on November 9 this year.
