On Monday 21 December 2020, a man in his 30s is said to have beaten and kicked a woman in her 60s to the head and upper body. Later he allegedly stabbed her in the neck and upper body with a knife.
The woman died of blood loss from the injuries she sustained with the knife.
The public prosecutor in Rogaland has now brought charges against the man, who in addition to murder is also charged with aggravated rape and attempted arson.
In the indictment, the public prosecutor requests that the man be sentenced to detention.

He has previously denied criminal guilt, but has admitted that he has been at the scene.
The now accused man is known to the police, and has previously been convicted of violence and threats.
The trial starts in Sør-Rogaland District Court on 19 October.
