On Monday 21 December 2020, a man in his 30s is said to have beaten and kicked a woman in her 60s to the head and upper body. Later he allegedly stabbed her in the neck and upper body with a knife.
The woman died of blood loss from the injuries she sustained with the knife.
The public prosecutor in Rogaland has now brought charges against the man, who in addition to murder is also charged with aggravated rape and attempted arson.
In the indictment, the public prosecutor requests that the man be sentenced to detention.
Assistance lawyer Kjersti Jæger for the bereaved says that it is an unusually serious case, with very serious elements involved.
