While for some manufacturers the agenda remains more or less fixed, Motorola on mobile phones is more of a surprise each time. After having announced two months ago the Moto G 5G Plus, it is time to renew its mid-range par excellence and today the Moto G9 it’s official now.
It is a smartphone that collects the witness of the Moto G8, with a slightly larger screen and looking to keep up with its predecessors in autonomy by promising up to two days. Let’s see what other features this new mobile from the manufacturer has.

Motorola seal remains on the back
The brand has been gathering efforts to focus on the mid-range, so that within this range it is presenting different more or less ambitious devices and in this case it is a rather basic proposal, according to your specifications. The new Moto G9 inherits a lot from the design that we are seeing in the manufacturer’s mobiles, although that square module that this year’s Moto G5 already showed is now going to one side.

The back is made of plastic, with a design that according to Motorola repels water. Although the dimensions are quite conserved compared to the Moto G8, it weighs a bit more and manages to integrate a screen of 6.5 inch, although the HD + resolution is maintained (with a little more density).
That greater weight, as we will see, corresponds in part to a larger battery. But what remains is that rear curved to the sides, the fingerprint reader in the logo, the 3.5 mm jack and the front camera inserted with a notch central drop-shaped.
A battery that promises to improve the previous
For the engine of this new mid-range, one of this year’s Qualcomm processors has been chosen. Specifically the Snapdragon 662, which is framed within the SoCs with 4G support. He goes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, expandable up to 512 GB with microSD card.
The battery that supports all this and the rest of the components is 5.000 mAh, this being one of the aspects that seems to have more evolution in relation to the Moto G8. They promise us an autonomy of up to two days with it and it has fast charging at 20W.
Speaking of photography, Motorola changes the bet and fire the wide angle to make room for a depth sensor on that square rear module. Thus, the triple camera of the Moto G9 consists of the following:
- Main: 48 megapixel sensor (12 megapixels with Quad Pixel) with f / 1.7 lens.
- 2 megapixel macro (f / 2.4).
- Depth: 2 megapixel sensor (f / 2.4)
The front camera is maintained with an 8 megapixel sensor and a lens with f / 2.2 aperture, with which the biggest change on paper is seen in the resolution of the main sensor. The maximum resolution of the video is 1080p in both cameras, although 60 fps can also be chosen on the rear.
Price and availability of the Motorola Moto G9
The new Motorola Moto G9 has so far been presented in India. The starting price is 11,799 rupees, ** about 130 euros at the change **, being available in the colors Sapphire Blue and Forest Green.
Being this mobile we hope that it leaves the Indian market and that it reaches Europe, although with a somewhat higher price than we see at the change (going from 200 euros). For now, Motorola hopes to see what they present September 9, rumored that there will be a new folding mobile.
