TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Blood plasma has been part of the response to this year’s coronavirus pandemic. Blood plasma is also an emergency treatment Covid-19 currently.

Blood plasma is a yellow fluid that carries red and white blood cells and platelets around the blood.
People who recover from COVID-19 will have white blood cells that can be used to fight the disease.
Those who donate their plasma can pass on these programmed cells to those who are fighting the disease, helping them recover quickly.
The NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) says those who are allowed to do so donor blood plasma must also meet the following criteria:
1. Fit and healthy
2. Aged 17 years and over
3. Have a large enough blood volume
The NHSBT added they wanted the people most likely to have the antibodies in their plasma, meaning those who had recently recovered from the disease.
Meanwhile, people with the following conditions are prohibited from donating blood plasma
1. Currently receiving certain medical or hospital care
2. Are currently taking certain medications
3. Recently traveled to a specific destination
4. Recently had a tattoo or piercing
5. Not feeling well on the day of donation
6. Suffering from cancer
