Doctor and influencer Tirta Mandira Hudhi who is familiarly called Dr. Tirta alluded to the microsleep issue in the case of the deadly accident of Vanessa Angel and her husband. He asked the public to learn microsleep, especially when going to drive on long trips.
“For those of you who want to drive, learn microsleep. This material has been explained many times since long ago, by my seniors, my colleagues, and even I also explain it. That’s why a rest area is made on the toll road, so that microsleep doesn’t happen,” he said on his personal Instagram account.
Quoted from Healthline, microsleep can actually be difficult to identify because a person may fall asleep when the eyes begin to close. However, there are some characteristics of microsleep that can be a warning.

Causes of microsleep
Lack of sleep is a risk factor for microsleep. This can be caused by insomnia, so that you don’t get enough quality sleep before.

Obstructive sleep apnea: blockage in the upper airway, interfering with breathing during sleep. As a result, the brain doesn’t receive enough oxygen during sleep, which can trigger daytime sleepiness.
