Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – World oil prices penetrated US$ 100/barrel for the first time in seven years. This comes after Russian President, Vladimir Putin, announced a military operation in Ukraine.
Reported from AFP, Thursday (24/2/2022) the price of Brent oil touched US $ 100.04 / barrel after Putin’s announcement. Meanwhile, WTI oil touched US$ 95.54/barrel.
“I have made the decision of a military operation,” Putin said in Moscow.
Putin in his speech also asked the Ukrainian military to lower its weapons. Putin’s remarks came after the Kremlin said rebel leaders in eastern Ukraine had asked Moscow for military assistance against Ukraine.
