Chaos with electronic referrals – what makes it difficult for GPs

Dr. Nikolay Hristov Staff: BNT

The problem is the exchange of information between the Health Insurance Fund, the Information Service and the software providers. We have been working more calmly since yesterday. The system has always been unprepared. The big software problem is in laboratories, clinics and medical centers. The Health Insurance Fund – “Information Services”, told BNT Dr. Nikolay Hristov, a general practitioner from Varna.

According to him, there is no way to issue a temporary paper direction.

“This version of electrification is not what general practitioners have proposed and insisted on, it is a parody of e-health, we as doctors are not relieved of the bureaucratic point of view, nor are the patients,” added Dr. Nikolay Hristov.

According to him, extra time is wasted to upload all the information in the health information system of the Health Insurance Fund.

“This reduces the time with patients, which leads to fewer examinations and less health care for patients, as well as direct savings for the Health Insurance Fund,” said Dr. Nikolai Hristov.
