As long as the municipality does not take sufficient measures, they will not take any risks. Entrepreneurs say that it is naive to think that no one comes to Pride at all, and therefore finds it ridiculous that the municipality does not take strict measures.
Koninklijke Horeca Amsterdam does not recognize itself at all in the criticism from various operators, it is of the opinion that the municipality is actually busy trying to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
“The municipality has been busy with crowd control for weeks. This afternoon we will discuss this again. I find it surprising that the entrepreneurs do not know what to do this weekend. Everyone should adhere to the corona measures. You are responsible for any queues. Finally, there are no signs with us that an enormous flow of people is coming, judging by the amount of hotel stays. ”
The entrepreneurs criticize the fact that the municipality and the associated authorities are too ‘vague’. It is continuously said that ‘more clarity will follow later’. But the entrepreneurs already want clarity, so that they can prepare everything properly. They do not want to run the risk of receiving a fine.
“It is also nice and vague weather. “Later in the week.” Is that tomorrow, or Friday evening at two to twelve? We get the impression that the municipality does not know at all what is happening in the gay catering industry. ”
