Where Chantal can sometimes make a mess, her husband Marco is annoyed by mess. Nothing even goes wrong there, but the fact that he is also sometimes guilty of leaving things around. “Nicely contradictory”, she calls that behaviour. “He’s the one who builds something ‘very cool’ from Lego with the boys and then tells me not to clean it up. Is there such a building on the floor in the middle of the kitchen for weeks. Then it itches me to clean it up anyway, so clumsy.” The presenter has now come up with a ‘solution’ for this, because while vacuuming – which she does every day – she occasionally sucks a Lego brick or two.

The household battle between Chantal and Marco also regularly erupts in the kitchen. Because besides the fact that Chantal is not a kitchen princess, she also makes no effort to tidy up her groceries. “I just put groceries and dishes in the fridge and dishwasher, there is no system in it. It will be clean or cold, however it is. Marco thinks differently: he wants everything to be neat and likes an overview. – he’s rearranging the whole thing because he can’t act my way,” Chantal said.
