The slot for dancers has disappeared from the competitive program – Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva/Egor Bazin and Elizaveta Shanaeva/Pavel Drozd will be out of the running. And Alina Gorbacheva will also come to Moscow, but her status is still unknown (either she will replace someone, or she is also out of standings).
Alexandra Trusova missed the Russian Championship due to illness. But even if one of the main stars of the world figure would get into the top 8 of the Czech Republic, Sasha would still not be expected at the First Channel Cup – this was told about a couple of months ago in Trusova’s official fan group.
Channel One Figure Skating Cup 2023: who will win
The first two Cup draws remained with the Red Machine team: in 2021, the Reds ruled Alina Zagitovain 2022 — Anna Shcherbakova. Who will be the captain this time, how the skaters will be distributed and whether the previous team names will be retained at all, is still unknown.
Channel One Figure Skating Cup 2023: schedule, where to watch
If at the last and the year before the skaters’ tournaments there was a jumping festival before the program rentals, this time the forum will be limited to two days: short programs are scheduled for January 21, participants will show free programs on January 22. Competitions will be judged according to the modern ISU system.
The tournament will be shown in full on the First Channel website and the Okko service.
