They scored their second victory in the table, when in the previous duel they defeated the Czech Republic after separate raids. Home Russia also triumphed in the third place, winning 5: 2 over the Czech Republic and leading the table by four points ahead of Finland.
The First Channel Cup is part of the Euro Hockey Tour series, in addition to the four EHT participants (Russia, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Finland), the Canadian team of players from the European leagues will also start.
