A 64-year-old woman in Chania lived fifty horrible years at the hands of her priest husband. The priest is facing serious allegations of domestic violence, abuse and threats against his wife and children. In fact, it continues to operate, even though the case is well known in the local community and in the relevant Diocese.
The case has now taken the path of justice while a temporary order has already been issued by which the Court prohibits the 74-year-old from approaching his wife.
However, it took 50 years to reveal what she experienced as the now 64-year-old elder endured from the age of 14 her husband’s violent and jealous nature, rape, physical violence, angry outbursts, threats and verbal abuse.
Victims of the situation and the children, who only two months ago understood the extent of the abuse, when they discovered their mother’s hidden diary.
The torture diary
In her diary, the 64-year-old describes the pathological jealousy and unbearable suspicion of her husband, the violent outbursts against her even for no reason, because, for example, she greeted a neighbor.
He also describes the incidents of abuse, with beatings and frequent rapes. The children discovered the diary, when two months ago the woman had to be hospitalized in a serious condition. It was then that she broke her silence and asked her children to take legal action to protect her from her priest husband.
It was during the 64-year-old’s hospitalization that there was a phone call with the daughter, in which insults and threats were hurled by the 74-year-old, which were immediately reported to the police according to zarpanews.gr.
