KOMPAS.com – Indonesian men’s doubles, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, had to experience an incident when he beat the French representative, Lucas Corvee/Ronan Labar, in the first round All England 2022.
This happened because field four at Birmingham’s Utility Arena, where they played, had a leak, Wednesday (16/3/2022).
The moment occurred in the second game when the score was 2-2, with in the first game, The Minions, nicknamed Marcus/Kevin, already pocketed a 21-12 advantage.
Because of that, the match was delayed for some time before the committee moved it to field three.

after restart, the game gets crowded. Several times Marcus/Kevin had to overcome the lag before closing the second game with 21-18.
“Actually, we played pretty well since the beginning of the match, but it was not good after moving the field because the wait was long so it was a bit cold,” said Marcus after the match, quoted from the PBSI press release.
“After moving the field in the second game, the points were tight, in fact we were always behind, lucky in the final points we were able to regain control and catch up,” said Kevin.

Marcus/Kevin, who were the first seeds, had to meet Choi Sol Gyu/Seo Seung Jae in the round of 32.
However, the South Korean couple decided to back down.
“We don’t feel benefited by the withdrawal of the Korean pair. All opponents are the same, all are hard because of this All Englandsaid Marcus.
