/ world today news/ ABV cannot participate in such political madness as the changes in the Electoral Code, which are a total trampling of democracy. This was commented by the deputy chairman of ABV Rumen Petkov.
According to him, a series of inadmissible texts were adopted, such as the mandatory voting and removal from the lists of unregistered citizens, which, according to him, lead to public dissatisfaction.
“I expect the Constitutional Court to examine the mandatory voting in detail, because it is very ridiculous, on the one hand, to accept the mandatory voting, and on the other hand, to remove from the electoral rolls our compatriots who have not participated in the voting for two consecutive elections”, commented Rumen Petkov.
According to him, this is ridiculous and insulting to our political system. “You cannot conduct a presidential campaign in 31 constituencies for 21 days, while at the same time wanting to guarantee the candidates for president and vice president to participate in public debates, and consider that in this way you have created conditions for motivated participation in the election of the Bulgarians citizens. This is absurd. There is no normal person who can perceive this,” added the ABV vice-president.
Rumen Petkov also said that it is not right for 200 texts to be adopted in two nights and for such important topics to be adopted hastily by the legal committee in the parliament, but to seek as wide a political consensus as possible in order to meet public needs.
“In connection with the upcoming presidential elections, active, public and serious talks are being held with all political parties”, commented Rumen Petkov. Regarding the election of a new DPS chairman, he commented that this was not a surprise and was a well-thought-out decision.
