At the launch of ‘Chapter 5: Underworld’ for the famous battle royale ‘Fortnite’, the Epic Games surprised the players by responding to a request that had been made for years.

Among all the modifications and additions that have transformed gameplay over time, one thing has remained unchanged, until now.

Still, one area that remained unchanged from the beginning was the healing system, an essential part of the strategy for winning in the game.

The need for constant protection and reinforcement of shields has always been a fundamental aspect to face the challenges of battle royale.

Over the seven years of the title’s evolution, several ways to increase the blue shield bar have been presented.

However, the classic potions that recovered 50% or 25% of the shield and the first aid kit system, responsible for recovering all life, remained unchanged.

That changed with Chapter 5, which stands out as one of the most comprehensive transformations.

Medkits and Shield Potions still offer the same amount of health and shield recovery; however, the mechanics behind it have been completely overhauled.

Now, when using these items, players will begin to gradually recover their health and shield, allowing them to move slowly while healing, eliminating the need to remain immobile.

This change, however, comes with a warning. Once the recovery process begins, players will not be able to interrupt it, making it essential to ensure protection against possible attacks while healing.

Epic Games responded to this long-standing request from players and introduced a change that will certainly impact the strategy and dynamics of ‘Fortnite‘.

With this change, users will have to adjust their tactics, carefully considering when and where to use healing items, which promises to add a new layer of strategy to the gameplay.
