Changeable PSV is unable to win in Tilburg after Obispo slipper

PSV and Willem II played a draw in a friendly match. The Eindhoven team took the lead in the first half, but after the break, the neighbors from Tilburg came alongside again after an error by Armando Obispo: 1-1.

Willem II had the better of the game in the opening phase, but it was PSV that struck for the first time. Cody Gakpo was sent off from the left and he served Donyell Malen, who simply poked the ball in from close range. That goal was motivating for the people of Eindhoven. Before half-time, there were still a number of opportunities to double the margin, but Robbin Ruiter kept his former teammates from scoring in the remainder of the first half.

After the break, PSV coach Roger Schmidt changed a lot and that did not benefit the playing level of the Eindhoven team. Willem II came into the game a lot better and more than ten minutes before the end that resulted in the equalizer. It needed the help of substitute Armando Obispo for that: he clumsily lost the ball, after which Vangelis Pavlidis hit the mark.

The well-stocked Koning Willem II Stadium then saw that Pavlidis and fellow striker Paul Gladon also had the winning on the shoe, but it did not come to that. With 1-1, both teams continue to work towards the Eredivisie start. PSV will practice against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday and will play a double match against Hertha BSC in just under a week. No exhibition games are planned for Willem II for the time being.
