CHANGE, the Three Kings parade will take place at a NEW TIME – Danube bend Region

On Epiphany, the visit of the three kings is commemorated in Sződliget, organized by the Roman Catholic parish.

The kings present gifts to the newborn Jesus, whom the peoples welcome as the Messiah. Nativity scene as a Hungarian tradition is now being revived in a new guise. The organizers jointly present the story of Bethlehem in a colorful, musical parade, in which everyone can participate as a character. The costumed participants form three courts around the three kings: those dressed in orange represent Asia, those dressed in green represent Europe, and those wearing blue represent Africa.

After the procession, returning to the Catholic church, the participants give gifts to the Holy Family, they can place a letter of thanks, a prayer or other small thing in the treasure chest.

Everyone, regardless of their religious affiliation, is warmly invited and welcomed.

The originally planned date of the parade would have been January 7, 2024, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., but due to bad weather, the event will start on January 14, 2 p.m. – the organizers informed our editors.

Location: Sződliget, Szabadság square
