Change of leadership at the superbank: Zsolt Barna and Levente Szabó replace József Vida

Magyar Bankholding Zrt. Started its actual operation almost a year ago, on December 15, 2020. The company’s goal is to conduct the merger and transformation of Budapest Bank, MKB Bank and the Takarék Group, in line with the business strategy adopted in March this year and the merger schedule announced in November.

An important element of the merger is the creation of a unified organizational governance structure in Magyar Bankholding and its member banks. Accordingly, on 16 November 2021, the Deputy CEOs and Managing Directors of Bankholding took over the professional and employment law management of the Group’s member banks, Budapest Bank, MKB Bank and Takarék Group.

As of December 1, 2021, the Group will take further steps to establish a unified management: the Chairman of the Board of Magyar Bankholding

Zsolt Barna will take over the duties of the CEO, and in the future he will manage Bankholding as the company’s President and CEO.

Levente Szabó, Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Bankholding for individual services, MTB Zrt. And Takarékbank Zrt. Will take over the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MTB Zrt. next to. József Vida will continue to work as the Chairman of Takarék Mortgage Bank Plc.

According to the plans of Magyar Bankholding, the unification of the entire operation will take place in two stages: on 31 March 2022, Budapest Bank and MKB Bank will merge, and the Takarék Group will join the merger by the second quarter of 2023.
