In March expatriate Eirik Jensen replaced his longtime lawyer John Christian Elden with Sigurd Klomsæt.
The collaboration between Jensen and Klomsæt has now ended. Klomsæt confirms this to Dagbladet.
– I have informed the others in “Team Klomsæt” about the decision. The feedback from everyone in the team is that everyone withdraws from further work on the tasks they were well underway with, he writes in a statement sent to Dagbladet on Monday morning.
Attorney Klomsæt further writes that the group’s common goal was to complete a request for reopening for submission to the Commission within a few weeks.
As a result of the petition, they hoped to see Eirik Jensen as a free man before July 1, 2022, he writes.
– With everything we have uncovered in recent months, I am convinced that with a well-prepared case, Eirik Jensen would be acquitted, at least for all charges from Cappelen, in Oslo District Court in 2017.
Klomsæt Jensen wishes everything well.
– As the whole team, I wish Eirik Jensen all the best in his fight for reopening, a “fair trial” and a correct verdict.
– Not satisfied
– Not impressed
John Christian Elden writes the following in an SMS to Dagbladet on Sunday night:
– I understand that Eirik Jensen was not so happy with the new acquaintance with Klomsæt, and want us to continue working for him under the leadership of my colleague lawyer Farid Bouras.
Klomsæt replies that this is unknown to him:
– It is not the justification that was given to me and my group, he says to Dagbladet.
Jensen stayed last year sentenced to 21 years in prison for gross corruption and drug trafficking.
Elden refers to Bouras’ other information. Dagbladet has not yet succeeded in getting in touch with Bouras on Monday morning.
