Chang Frick to Quran Blessings:-

In recent days, the Koran and potentially Sweden’s Nato hopes have gone up in flames. And behind it stands Chang Frick, the Swedish editor-in-chief and founder of the controversial and right-wing website Nyheter Idag.

It was he who invited the Danish-Swedish right-wing radical Stram Kurs politician Rasmus Paludan to Stockholm exactly one week ago – who burned the holy scripture in front of the Turkish embassy and made President Recep Tayyip Erdogan say that Sweden can no longer expect Turkey’s support for the NATO application.

It is needed to get it through.

– Likes to put things first

Frick has been referred to as the man who paid for the Koran burning in the Swedish press. But in this interview, he claims that he did not know that the Koran would be burned and that he had no intention of interfering with the NATO application.

– I simply believe that Turkey has gone too far in its demands on Sweden. First they would have handed over 30 Swedes (affiliated to the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK), which is branded a terrorist both in Turkey and in the EU, journ.anm), then 60 and then 130. And they think they can decide on our freedom of expression. That’s what I wanted to demonstrate against. I wasn’t looking to shake up security policy issues, but then “I like to have a little fun and put things on edge”, he says to Dagbladet.

From before, mostly the left has demonstrated against the demands, but now Frick believed that the right also had every reason to act. He therefore contacted an acquaintance in the far-right environment and asked if he knew anyone who could be suitable to lead a demonstration.

– Then he said he knew of the right person, Rasmus Paludan, and he put us in touch.

– He was a bit of a provocateur and such, and it fit in well.

Should burn “Kuken”

Frick says he had a plan for how the demonstration would go.

– The other day, the Turkish authorities canceled a meeting with the spokesman of the Swedish Riksdag, Andreas Norlén, because the Rojavakommitteryna (which supports the “revolutionary movement in Kurdistan”, journ.amn.) had hung an Erdogan doll upside down in front of Stockholm’s council. A few days later, the online newspaper published The flame a caricature of the Turkish flag, with the inscription “Kuken” – an imitation of Carl Johan De Geers “Desecrate the flag» from 1967.

The artwork Frick is referring to saw De Geers prosecuted and later convicted for “insulting the (Swedish) national symbol, insulting a foreign national symbol and sedition”.

– The caricature has later become republished in a variety of media, so I thought I’d play on it, and burn a Turkish flag with “Kuken” written on it. I knew Paludan had burned the Koran before, so I thought burning a flag would be an easy matter. He was a bit of a provocateur and such, and it suited him well.

And Frick wanted to keep the demonstration going. Therefore, he paid the required fee.

– It has been suggested in the Swedish and international press that I paid Paludan money to come here, but that is not true. I have not given him one penny. I only paid the fee of NOK 320 to Swedish police needed to hold demonstrations. If Paludan had paid it himself, it would have taken two or three days before the transfer from Denmark had gone through. That’s why I just posted it.

– Burning the Koran is like Paludan’s thing.

– Little I could do

Frick says he was then added to a private chat group with Paludan and the acquaintance.

From here it quickly got out of control, he claims:

– We started planning for Saturday, and then Paludan suddenly went out in the media and said he was going to burn the Koran. Then I thought: “Burn a Koran, why? Haven’t you got the point?”. I then contacted the acquaintance and asked if he had informed Paludan about the plan. “Yes, then,” he replied. But later there was a message in the chat group where Paludan wrote that he needed a Koran. I tried to ignore the question and said that I could fix a flag, the plan was not to demonstrate against the Muslim people, but Turkey.

– But eventually I realized that there was little I could do, burning the Koran is sort of Paludan’s thing. This had become his demonstration, says Frick.

The Express has published parts of the communication in the chat group “Lördagskaos”.

The rest is also history: Paludan came to Stockholm, burned the Koran in front of the embassy. Protests broke out in several countries. The Swedish embassy in Ankara had to be closed for security reasons. President Erdogan said that Sweden can no longer expect NATO support and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said at a press conference on Tuesday that “Now it’s serious”.

Frick sums it up like this:

– I was perhaps a bit stupid and should have contacted Paludan directly and ensured that he understood what I wanted before he arrived, without going through a third party. Communication was not optimal.

spy?

Frick says that his phone has exploded after the demonstration.

– Erdogan has of course used this for all it’s worth in his election campaign, and it has become a huge issue. And now people think, “Oh, shit. What happens to the NATO application?”. And they need a scapegoat. And who is behind this? Yes, Chang Frick. Let’s take him. Swedish media get psychotic from time to time, says Frick.

– But was it wise to stir up Turkey now that Sweden depends on their support and so much is at stake?

– It will also be a sought-after question. I had no plan to burn the Koran in the first place. Had things gone according to my plan, and the flag had been burned, Erdogan could not turn this into a religious fight. The cock was meant for him, and he couldn’t blow it up as a national issue then. Then this discussion would not have arisen. Then we wouldn’t have had this conversation.

In recent days, several people have also brought up Frick’s Russian background and questioned whether his arrangement for Paludan’s stunt was part of a Russian influence campaign to weaken unity in the West – and NATO.

In 2014, he took on freelance assignments for the Russian propaganda channel RT. That same year, after Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula, he wrote on Twitter that “Russia is no worse than the US and the EU, if you just open your eyes,” according to Gothenburg Post.

And he has visited the country several times since. An American think tank has gone so far as to claim that Frick is recruited by the feared military intelligence service GRU.

– It is so conspiratorial, there is no evidence. Yes, I took on an assignment for RT almost ten years ago, but I was young and freelance. I also supplied material to Swedish media such as TV4 and TT, an American TV channel, I don’t remember the name, and Hungarian media. And yes, I had a different view of Russia then, at that time they had a completely different point of view in the world. But after the annexation of Crimea, I changed my mind, says Frick.

– Are you a Russian spy?

– The only link I have to Russia today is my Russian roommate.

In recent days, several people have also highlighted photos in which Frick poses in clothes with a picture of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the flag of the Russian Federation. To this he says:

– My roommate’s mother usually visits us during holidays, and then she always brings effects from Russia. She has also bought T-shirts with a picture of Putin and the Russian flag. I think it’s just funny and joking, and put it on and post a picture. But of course: Frick is a Satanist, offers Satan, drinks children’s blood and is a GRU agent who wears Putin T-shirts. People have psychosis.
