Tensions have soared in the Middle East since the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus in which 13 people died, including six Syrians and seven members of the Revolutionary Guard.
Among the dead is the leader of the Quds Force -outer arm of the Guard- for Syria and Lebanon, Brigadier General Mohamed Reza Zahedi.
After the attack, the Iranian authorities have repeatedly promised revenge against their archenemy Israel, whom they blame for the attack.
Those warnings have sparked rumors that an attack on Israel by Iran or its allies in the region, Yemen’s Houthis, Lebanese Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic militias in Iraq and Syria, is imminent.
Despite the tensions and rumors, life in Tehran is developing normally and this Friday parks and public spaces were full of families taking advantage of the bridge to mark the end of Ramadan and the arrival of good weather. EFE (I)
