Chances of a US strategy for Iran

Joe Biden should correct the failed Iran policy of his predecessor and quickly return to the nuclear deal. Only then will there be a chance to talk to Tehran about an extension of the agreement and other issues.

After Donald Trump resigns, the US needs a new strategy towards Tehran. Because his campaign of “maximum pressure” did not achieve any of its goals.

Donald Trump can be accused of many things, but not that he had no policy on Iran. Even before his election, he polemicized against the international nuclear agreement with Iran and promised to get out of the “worst deal of all time” as president. Once in the White House, he put this threat into practice and announced in May 2018 that he was leaving the laboriously negotiated agreement. It doesn’t matter that the allies in Europe were against it. It doesn’t matter that he was breaching the treaty, after all, the nuclear deal was just as binding for America as it was for Iran.
