The newly elected Chancellor Willy Brandt declares in his first government statement that he wants to dare to be more democratic.
This is also a reaction to the events of 1968. Brandt declines “Dare for more democracy” through: lowering the voting age, lowering the age limit, more discourse, more participation. He talks about all of this right at the beginning.
Other topics include: Europe and the German-German relationship, which he wants to ease.
