The English League (EFL) announced on Thursday that it had initiated proceedings against the Derby County club for having exceeded the authorized limits of financial fair play. The League accuses the “Rams” of having lost too much money over a three-year period, between 2015 and 2018, after having peeled the accounts of the club currently in the Championship (second division).

“The club will now be referred to an independent disciplinary committee, which will hear representatives from the EFL and Derby County”, said the League in its press release. Championship teams are not allowed to lose more than 46 million euros in three years.
