The draw did not go exactly according to plan for Giorgio Marchetti and Uefa.
Manchester United had a very tough draw and will face French Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Liverpool, for their part, got what is called a dream draw and meet Austrian Salzburg.
However, the draw did not go exactly according to plan for UEFA, which messed it up on a couple of occasions. Among other things, Manchester United was not put down in the bowl when Atletico Madrid’s opponent was to be drawn.
The problems started when United were mistakenly drawn against Villarreal, against whom they played in the group stage.
It was corrected again, but led to Manchester United being marked as red unavailable when Atletico’s opponent was to be drawn.
– It’s a scandal. They have to move again, says Simen Stamsø Møller in TV 2’s studio.
– I refuse to believe that they just let it go. They’re going to talk about it now. I must admit that I will be surprised if this draw remains, says Stamsø Møller further.
