Monaco, Marseille and Rennes compete for the podium
OM’s defeat in Rennes last week put the Rouge et Noir back in the race for the podium and allowed ASM, who won their ninth victory in a row at the same time, to take the runners-up spot for the first time this season. The Monegasques, ahead of Marseille on goal difference, have their destiny between their feet while the Marseillais must hope for a misstep to regain their second place. The Rennais must hope for two to go directly to the next Champions League. As a reminder, third place will only give a ticket for the 3rd preliminary round of the competition.
Monaco second if:
– He gets a better result in Lens than OM against Strasbourg.
– He loses, OM too, but without a victory for Rennes and retaining his best goal difference over OM (+26 against +21).
OM second if:
– He gets a better result against Strasbourg than Monaco in Lens.
– It obtains the same result the same result as Monaco and makes up for its goal difference (+21 against +25), on condition of avoiding a victory for Rennes at Lille in the event of defeat.
Rennes second if:
– He wins in Lille while Monaco and OM lose against Strasbourg and Lens.

Several fourth-place contenders
To join FC Nantes, winner of the Coupe de France, directly in the group stage of the next Europa League, the fourth in the championship could well be behind Rennes, who are not allowed to reverse Lille. Strasbourg and Nice will have to win to hope to reach the top 4, even if one of the two could console themselves with the Conference League.
Strasbourg fourth if:
– He wins in Marseille and Rennes loses in Lille.
Nice fourth if:
– He wins in Reims, Rennes loses in Lille and Strasbourg does not win in Marseille.
– He wins, Strasbourg too, makes up for his goal difference and Rennes loses.

Lens still in the race for the C4
Fifth place in Ligue 1, qualifying for the Conference League play-offs, is still accessible for RC Lens, which narrowly missed out on Europe last season. The Sang et Or are condemned to beat an impressive Monegasque team, while hoping for snags from Strasbourg and Nice to find the continental neighbors, 15 years later.

Saint-Étienne and Metz aim for 18th place
The suspense is at its height for the maintenance. Before the last 90 minutes of the season, the Greens and Grenats are tied on points and struggling to avoid the descent and grab a play-off place against AJ Auxerre. FC Metz enjoys a better goal difference but moves to the Parc des Princes while the Stéphanois go to La Beaujoire to face an opponent a priori more accessible.
Behind, the relegation of the Girondins de Bordeaux is not yet official but there is no longer any doubt. Held in check by Lorient last Saturday, the Bordelais are now three points behind ASSE and Metz, but also a largely unfavorable goal difference. Only a victory combined with defeats of his competitors, all with large scores, would offer them the true achievement of a play-off place.
