The match schedule for the first phase of the 2024-25 Champions League has been announced with dates and times, which will begin with the first matchday in three rounds in September, Tuesday 17, Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19, and will end with a unified matchday on Wednesday 29 January.
Of the 36 teams taking part in this round of the Champions League, the top eight will advance directly to the Round of 16. Those finishing between ninth and 24th will play a two-legged knockout round in February to complete the qualifying rounds, and those placed between 25th and 36th will be eliminated, with no option to advance to any other competition.
The two-legged knockout format will then be maintained until the final on 31 May 2025 at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CALENDAR, DATES AND MATCH TIMES FOR THE LEAGUE PHASE
There will be four home games and four away games for all teams in this edition of the 2024-25 Champions League, which will debut this new format.
The clubs that finish 1st to 8th in the league phase will be seeded in the Round of 16 and will play the return match at home.
In the event of a draw, the first criterion for deciding will be the goal difference. Then, if the clubs had met, the result of the match, and if they had not met, the number of goals. Then, the number of victories.
