Champions Hockey League starts later and without a group stage


The Champions Hockey League (CHL) postponed its start by around a month to October 6 due to the coronavirus pandemic and also changed the mode: there will be no group games, only knockout games. The CHL announced on Tuesday. Austria is represented by Red Bull Salzburg and the Vienna Capitals.

The “premier class”, in which 32 teams from 13 countries are participating again, will begin with the sixteenth final. Including up to the semi-finals, the promoters will be determined in the return game. The finale is scheduled for February 9, 2021.
