“The FASFC is closely monitoring the situation and is in close contact with the authorities and federations involved,” it said. “The FASFC asks consumers who have purchased this product to be extremely careful and absolutely not to consume it. It is not known how the MDMA ended up in these bottles. At this stage of the investigation it cannot be excluded that other bottles of the same brand also contain MDMA.”
Op the website of the food agency consumers can find in which stores the lots in question were sold. The champagne containing MDMA would not fizz, have a reddish-brown color and an unusual aniseed scent. “Even tasting the liquid can lead to serious health problems,” says the FASFC. “Call the poison control center immediately if you have swallowed the liquid and contact the consumer contact point of the FASFC.”
