The industrial tribunal of Niort delivered this Monday morning its decision concerning the case opposing Denis Renaud and the Chamois Niortais. The former coach of Carquefou and Paris FC had sued the club Niort for his dismissal in February 2018 (after the defeat conceded in front of Nîmes 1-4 at the René-Gaillard stadium).
The club had justified this departure by a serious fault explaining that the coach had implemented a strategy to be landed immediately his extended contract. What Denis Renaud and his assistant at the time Stéphane Figureau always disputed.
Abusive termination and violation of privacy
Justice has given them partly right this Monday by considering that it was an abusive breach of contract. As a result, Chamois Niortais are ordered to compensate Denis Renaud up to around 450,000 euros and his deputy up to around 140,000 euros.
“The emails and SMS provided by the club were not retained by the judges, finding that it was a violation of privacy.“also explained their lawyer Maître Didier Lacombe.
“Provisional execution of the judgment has been ordered“, added the council. Niort will therefore have to pay even if he decides to appeal.
