Several chambers are suing the training fund in Bremen. The hearing begins on Monday (10 a.m.) before the State Court. The court should examine whether the law passed in March is compatible with the state constitution. According to their own statements, the German Federation of Trade Unions (DGB) and the Jusos are organizing a rally before the start of negotiations.
Bremen wants to use the law to support training companies and counteract the strained training market. From the beginning of next year, all companies in Bremen will have to pay a levy. Training companies should receive compensation for training costs from the fund. The money will also be used to finance, among other things, further training for trainers and language courses.
The Chamber of Commerce, Crafts, Dentists, Pharmacists and Doctors as well as the Bremen Hanseatic Bar Association are suing. In their view, the state is exceeding its competence with the training fund. The law does not solve the problem of skilled workers, but only creates an additional financial and bureaucratic burden.
