Chamber working again: new debate about full ICs | Inland

The reason for the new debate is the expected increase in the number of corona patients in intensive care. The Dutch Association for Intensive Care expects that there will be 500 to 1000 corona patients in the intensive care units next week, mainly in North Brabant.

It will be the third time in a short time that the House of Representatives has come together in a thinned version to debate the corona crisis.

On Wednesday, the debate focused on measures taken by the government to prevent dispersion and support measures for the economy. Next week it will mainly focus on the burden or overload of care due to the coronavirus.

There are currently 575 IC places available for corona patients in the Netherlands. That could be expanded to 1,500, although an additional 500 respirators would be required.
