CITY OF MEXICO.- With the vote in favor of Morena, PT, PES and Verde, the full of the Chamber of Deputies endorsed, in general, the opinion that reforms three laws to grant total control of all the country’s ports to the Marine Secretary and take away this faculty from Ministry of Communications and Transportation.
In a debate lasting more than three hours, where different members of the opposition accused the militarization of the ports, 263 votes were obtained in favor of Morena, PT, PES and Verde; 43 abstentions from PRI y PAN and 85 of PAN, MC y PRD against this reform that modifies Organic Law of the Federal Public Administration, the Law of Navigation and Maritime Commerce, and the Law of Ports.
To modify the content of this opinion, various reservations were presented that will be addressed below.
This opinion could not be endorsed last week in plenary, due to errors in the turn that was given to the initiative of the deputy Juanita Guerra, and this Thursday morning it was endorsed by the Governance Commission again.
