“Chamber Music Festival: Exploring Mutations Through Time and Genre”

Before Pentecost, the University of Music and Theater in Rostock is again organizing a chamber music festival. The motto is “mutations”. For three days, from 22.-24. May 2023, mainly artists who teach and study at the hmt Rostock give concerts.

The concerts begin at 8 p.m. and take place in the chamber music hall. The selection of works spans several epochs and includes a wide variety of instrumentations. Popular chamber music works and songs can be heard as well as pieces that open up unknown worlds. The program includes, for example, the popular “Dumky” piano trio by Antonín Dvořák, the “Spanish Songs” by Robert Schumann,Works by François Couperin, WA Mozart, Frank Bridge, Leoš Janáček and Ichiro Nodaira. The pianist Endri Nini, lecturer for piano chamber music at the hmt Rostock, is the artistic director.

The hmt Rostock has been organizing a chamber music festival once a year for many years. The last two chamber music festivals took place with great success under the motto “When the hours stood still” (2021) and “Happy Birthday, Mr. Beethoven!” (2020).

Admission is €15.00 (reduced €10.00) plus a surcharge at the box office. Admission is free for students with the culture ticket.
