Chamber in debate about mouth caps deal, but without Hugo de Jonge

The House will debate with the current minister Conny Helder (Long-term Care). The coalition parties consider this to be ‘pure constitutional law’.

Fact sheet

Following the publication in the Volkskrant about De Jonge’s involvement, the House of Representatives also wanted an account of the facts from the ministry. That is not coming for the time being.

Minister Helder first wants to await Deloitte’s investigation. The results are expected before the summer recess. The expected publication date has already been postponed several times.

Catch-up session

The House of Representatives is being updated by consultancy Deloitte, which is investigating the issue. No date has yet been set for the update session.

A technical briefing is not a debate: only substantive questions are asked. It is not yet known whether the briefing will be publicly visible or held behind closed doors.
