Prime Minister Rutte: ‘Guys, people are watching’
As prime minister, Mark Rutte has no say in what the House agrees on rules of contact, but he does welcome better agreements. “It can also be nice and in a way that you don’t bring down a person. That stuff about those tribunals, then I think ‘Guys, people watch it. Shall we keep it a little chic?'”
Rutte, who admits that he sometimes crosses the border himself, points out that the discussion about language use in the House is of all times. “In the past, the President of the House could still delete words from the report. Then ‘you lie’ was once replaced by ‘what you say is at odds with the truth’.”
