Cham: Technology university site is being expanded

The Technology Campus Cham is being expanded. A new building is planned in Badstrasse to complement the existing building. The building owner is the Free State of Bavaria. The Technology Campus in Cham is a branch of the Deggendorf Technical University. There are now over 260 students from 20 nations in Cham.

The Technology Campus Cham, branch of the Deggendorf University of Technology, is being expanded to include a new building in Badstrasse. This project was presented on Saturday at a press conference. “This is associated with an outstanding upgrade for the study location Cham.” Said the Cham District Administrator Franz Löffler and MdL Dr. Gerhard Hopp and Chams Mayor Martin Stoiber in the presence of the President of the Technical University Deggendorf Prof. Dr. Peter Sperber. The building owner is the Free State of Bavaria. Science Minister Bernd Sibler emphasized on the occasion of the press conference: “The expansion of the Cham location is in line with our High-Tech Agenda Bavaria. Because this is where the TH Deggendorf tackles crucial future issues. Everyone involved pulls together to further expand this study and research location. The new modular building is the best example of this. ”Deputy Dr. Gerhard Hopp: “The investment in modular construction and the further development of the technology campus are a clear commitment by the Free State of Bavaria to the district of Cham as a place of study. I was happy to support this in the budget committee of the Bavarian state parliament. The investment is an important step towards our common goal of achieving equal and attractive life opportunities throughout Bavaria! “

District Administrator Franz Löffler pointed out that the Technology Campus in the Cham district has long had an important symbolic effect and a key function for a large number of positive developments.

“The creation of several courses of study, the establishment of a digital start-up center and the establishment of two user centers for digital production and additive manufacturing were milestones in the technological development of the Cham district. The addition of a new international course “Artificial Intelligence for Smart Sensors / Actuators” will consolidate the successful work of the campus. I am particularly pleased that the Free State of Bavaria is setting an example for the future viability of the Cham study location with the financing of the necessary new building. Today is not only a good day for the further development of the Technology Campus Cham, but also for the economic development of the district as a whole! “

President Dr. Peter Sperber emphasized the importance of the teaching and study location Cham: “The Technology Campus Cham has developed splendidly in the last 10 years. We have achieved our goals and are now an international study location with over 260 students from 20 nations. I am particularly pleased to be able to add a second module to the campus. “
