Paul Vanweydeveld, physical education and sports teacher at Petite Terre high school and academic secretary of SNEP FSU, was Zakweli’s guest this Monday
“It’s a very difficult start to the school year,” says Paul Vanweydeveld, “the day after the short October vacation, we don’t know if our establishments will have water or not.” According to him, “the greatest vagueness reigns… We were told that the Petite Terre high school was on the path to the water, then we learned that it was not there and that we were going to do work , I hope this work is done, otherwise there will be mobilization.”
The PE teacher wants us to give “at least one liter of water to the students to drink before sports lessons”. He also wants acceptable hygiene conditions “so that students can shower after PE sessions”
Regarding the non-payment or partial payment of salaries and bonuses, the trade unionist professor protests against the rectorate “which cannot regularize the situations”. “It’s an unspeakable disaster! We are told about faulty software, but that is not an excuse.”
Paul Vanweydeveld returns to the attractiveness of Mayotte. According to him, there should be an increase in indexation given the difficult living conditions, because “attractiveness is not just salary”.
