It’s a triple challenge, successful in every way: 80 people registered to donate blood on Saturday March 26 in Lagord, near La Rochelle. Mainly supporters of Stade Rochelais. At the call of the gendarmes of Charente-Maritime!
It all started with a bet launched by the gendarmes : in the event of victory for Stade Rochelais in Toulon, they would offer chocolates to supporters. Something promised, something due on March 11: the gendarmes then launched a challenge to supporters (in exchange for the famous chocolatines): that 80 of them come to donate blood in Lagord, on March 26, during a collection organized with the French Blood Establishment.
Result: less than a week later, the 80 slots have been reserved. Some gendarmes will donate blood themselves at this time. And will therefore distribute chocolatines (“or chocolate breads, we are not sectarian”, they have fun).
Considering that each blood donation saves three lives, “We are going to save 240 lives already”, rejoice the gendarmes of Charente-Maritime.
