chairman DKI DPRD Prasetio Edi Marsudi said a number of parties had supported the name of Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to launch a race Formula E in Jakarta.
Pras, as he is known, said that this effort cannot be justified, especially since the KPK is currently investigating the Formula E event.
“This is getting ridiculous. I ask that there is no need to bring up the name of the President,” said Pras in a written statement, Thursday (25/11).
He said he still supports the KPK in investigating the implementation of Formula E 2022 in Jakarta.
Pras believes that anti -corruption agencies must already have strong initial evidence so that reports related to Formula E are processed.
“Because hundreds of billions of people’s money have been deposited. The BPK also stated that it was a finding. So I think we must be objective in this matter,” he said.
Pras also said that the efforts of law enforcement agencies were in line with the proposal for the right of interpellation submitted by 33 members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.
“With the investigation process that is still being investigated by the KPK regarding the implementation of Formula E, it confirms that our intention in the DPRD to roll out the right of interpellation is truly for the public interest. Not for political interests,” said the PDIP politician.
Previously, the General Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Central Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet) revealed five alternative locations for the Formula E event in the capital. The five locations are Pantai Indah Kapuk, Sudirman, Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Jiexpo Kemayoran and Ancol.
“Sudirman, PIK, JIS, Jiexpo Kemayoran, Ancol, we will suggest this to the President to vote,” he said, who is also a Golkar politician and chairman of the MPR in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (24/11).
On the same occasion, the Chief Championship Officer and Co-founder of Formula E, Alberto Longo stated that his party would conduct a feasibility study to the five locations. He said the location decision was in the hands of Jokowi as president.
“Hopefully, before Christmas, there will be a decision. We will submit a proposal to the President of Indonesia, and he will take the decision,” he said.
