Muhammadiyah Central Presidency Chairman (PP) Busyro Muqoddas opens his voice Secretary General (Sekum) Mohammadi Abdul Mu’ti will be a candidate for the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) in the cabinet of President Prabowo Subianto. Busyro Muqoddas admitted that he only found out about the news today.
“What I know is that the General Secretary has not said anything since yesterday to his PP Muhammadiyah colleagues, now I know that (Abdul Mu’ti) was recently called by several others ,” said Busyro at PP Muhammadiyah Office, Jogjakarta. , as reported detikYogaTuesday (15/10/2024).
“There is no official offer to PP Muhammadiyah, that I know of. If there is an official offer, it will be discussed in the PP, whether it will be accepted or not, and how PP members will proceed,” he continued.

Despite this, Busyro said that the position that Abdul Mu’ti will have is well suited to his ability. According to him, Abdul Mu’ti’s good track record in the field of education meets the criteria.
“Therefore, with such a model, Muhammadiyah has leaders who meet the requirements of the state’s interests, and one of them is named Pak Abdul Mu’ti, who is an expert in this field,” he explained.
“So later at the formal time, Pak Prabowo as president-elect will appoint according to the principle, the right man in the right job,” Busyro said.
