Chairman of National Sports Center addresses disorder at festival, talks damages and agreements with LNKC

The chairman of the board of the National Sports Center, Daniels Nātriņš, stated that there was some disorder, but it has now largely been localized. The festival organizers, together with the representatives of the center and also the tenants of the sports stadium, are checking the condition of the premises, and documents will be prepared this week showing the damages.

“Then we will find out how big their volume is. So far, there are no indicators that the organizers are not ready to cover these losses. We have concluded an agreement with LNKC, which includes not only the payment for renting out the rooms to the dancers – over 200 thousand euros – but also compensation for damages, if necessary,” said Nātriņš and added – so that such problems do not arise in the future, leaders of dance groups should inform their dancers that there are things that should not be done.

Both Riga municipal police and National Guardsmen were on duty at the Daugava Stadium, but as police press secretary Toms Sadovskis and National Guard representative Yevgēnijs Augustavskis informed the newspaper, their task was to monitor the public event in the stadium, not to check how the dancers behaved behind the scenes, that is, inside the stadium.
