Chairman of the European Committee for NATO Enlargement Gunther Fehlinger believes that Armenia should join the North Atlantic Alliance.
“I call on Armenia to join NATO, (Prime Minister) Nikol Pashinyan. Protect Armenia, US President (Joe Biden),” he wrote today, September 4, on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
Apparently, Nikol Pashinyan’s recent statements prompted such calls by some Euro-Atlanticists. In an interview published on September 2 with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the Armenian prime minister openly criticized Russia’s actions in the region, more precisely, Moscow’s “inaction” in protecting the security of the Transcaucasian member of the CSTO.
