Even if one of the aforementioned senior statesmen is prevented from attending the swearing-in of the new constitutional judges, this will not taint their inauguration. This was stated by the chairman of the Audit Chamber, Dimitar Glavchev, to “Nova News”.
Whoever proposes, he evaluates all the qualities of the one who is nominated, he said regarding the selection of Desislava Atanasova and Borislav Belazelkov as constitutional judges.
Glavchev recalled the constitutional case for the election of judge Georgi Markov, which was contested by the required number of deputies. The decision in the case confirms the election of President Zhelyu Zhelev as Judge Markov.
Regarding the BGN 11 billion spent by the government in December 2023, the chairman of the Audit Chamber explained that they had checked the budget for 2022, where nothing wrong was found. “The verification of the implementation of the republican budget for m.y. it will be done on time,” explained Glavchev.
Regarding our country’s entry into the Eurozone, he pointed out that Bulgaria’s debt is among the smallest in this financial union. One of the requirements is that the candidate state submits two budgets from a regular government, he said, and expressed the expectation that the government will pass the other budget as well.
