Exclusively recommended as a candidate for president-elect
Next month’s board of directors-consecutive terms after the shareholders’ meeting
Hana Financial Group held an in-depth interview with four finalists, including Chairman Kim, Young-joo Ham, Vice Chairman of Hana Financial Group, Hana Bank Vice President Park Sung-ho, and former Citi Bank Korea President Park Jin-hoe. It has been announced that it has been confirmed as a candidate for president.
Chairman Kim is expected to be reappointed after going through the board of directors and shareholders’ meeting next month. However, the additional term is until the regular shareholders’ meeting in 2022, which will be held in March next year. This is because there is no limit to the number of consecutive terms according to the Hana Financial Governance Standards, but there is an age limit of’up to the age of 70′.
Chairman Kim served as Vice President of Hana Finance in 2005, CEO of Hana Daetoo Securities in 2007, and President of Hana Bank in 2008. Since then, he became the chairman of Hana Financial Group since 2012, and has been leading the group for the ninth year after successive tenures in 2015 and 2018. Chairman Kim is expected to focus on finding a successor along with organizational stability. It is considered a task to solve the legal risks of leading candidates as they have to go through the procedure for the appointment of the president again a year later. After being nominated as a candidate for chairman Kim, he said, “With a heavy sense of responsibility, I will devote myself to overcoming the crisis caused by internal and external uncertainty caused by Corona 19 and stabilizing the organization of the group.” Reporter Shin Nari [email protected]
