Chairman John Jaakke voted out, entire supervisory board resigned | Football

sport">During a meeting Monday morning, chairman John Jaakke, who was appointed exactly three years ago tomorrow (17 November 2017), was voted out. Peter Fossen, board member of PSV, and Oege Boonstra have declared their solidarity.

sport">Jaakke, former president of Ajax’s supervisory board, did not show any leadership in the corona crisis in the eyes of the clubs and would be too far from the professional football organizations in the Eredivisie. Jaakke was also criticized for performing as a soloist in the appointment of the Eredivisie director Matthijs Manders (who has left the club) and his successor Jan de Jong (ex-NOS and ex-Feyenoord).

sport">The intention was to have Jaakke leave anyway at the moment that a new interest group was to be founded, in which both the Eredivisie and the Eerste Divisie would be opened with all BVOs. This new interest group should see the light next month. The smaller clubs in the Eredivisie, the so-called ‘right-hand row’, had little to do with Jaakke. It was felt that he showed himself too little and did not defend their interests.

sport">Not all clubs were in favor of sending Jaake away. But the vote ratio was clear, according to insiders: 11 votes in favor of expelling Jaakke and 7 votes in favor of the chairman remaining on.

sport">The administrative crisis is a new bomb for the Eredivisie CV, where the appointment of Manders and his quick departure also caused commotion.

sport">A salient detail is that the position of the supervisory board members was immediately the first item on the agenda of the meeting. When it became clear that there was no support whatsoever for the former lawyer Jaakke as supervisor, things had immediately exploded. All other agenda items could no longer be discussed because there was no longer a chairman. It was therefore the shortest meeting in the history of the Eredivisie CV.
