Twelve cars collided with each other on the A9 at the Beverwijk junction this morning. The pile-up took place around 6.30 am in the direction of Alkmaar.
It is not clear what exactly happened. Rijkswaterstaat reports that the police do not have to investigate the incident. That probably means no people were seriously injured.
The road is closed from the Beverwijk junction. Traffic to Amsterdam has to make a detour, which results in an extra half hour of travel time. Bergers are busy clearing the road again. This is expected to last until 10 a.m., reports NH News.
