However, Manouchehri rejected this defense by saying that the relationship between Hermosilla and Chadwick went beyond simple friendship. “Hermosilla and Chadwick weren’t just friends. They were partners in a company, they had the same secretaries, the same accountant. They worked with those who are in prison today and organized all kinds of jobs. Large sums of money were transferred. So here we are not just talking about friendship, but about someone who is at the heart of the Hermosilla network,” said the deputy.
The lawmaker also indicated that Hermosilla would have financed Chadwick’s defense with money allegedly derived from money laundering, and that he had invested more than 220 million pesos in the former minister “We still don’t know about Mr Chadwick’s work. It’s just the votes,” Manouchehri said.
The socialist deputy mentioned the close working relationship between Hermosilla and Chadwick during his time at La Moneda, citing Gonzalo Blumel’s book as a source.
