Chadwick Boseman becomes the winner of a major category at the Golden Globes by taking home the accolade for his incredible portrayal of Levee Green in the film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, a jewel of Netflix released last December 2020.
The actor who tragically passed away at the age of 43 after losing the battle against colon cancer on August 28, became one of the few celebrities to win the Golden Globe posthumous for Best Actor in a Dramatic Film

In the original tape of Netflix, Boseman performs as a trumpeter in the band of legendary Soul singer Ma Rainey’s, played by Viola Davis. Boseman’s character dreams of being as big or bigger than Ma, enduring injustice, discrimination and carrying a tragic past behind him.
During the ceremony, there was also a segment where they asked children some questions related to the nominated films or actors, where Chadwick was remembered by the little ones as the great Black Pantherwhile one of them referred to him as a great guy.

Between the nominees Competing alongside Boseman in the category were Roa Azmed (Sound of Mental), Anthony Hopkins (The Father), Gary Oldman (Mank) and Tahar Rahim (The Mauritanian), all of them achieving exceptional performances against which the great icon of the African American community and of the cinema in general in which the great Chadwick Boseman has become.
